Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much do lessons cost?
A: Please visit our Tuition page for the most up to date information.
Q: How many lessons do I get per month?
A: There are 48 lesson weeks per calendar year averaging 4 lessons per month although some months have 5 weeks and some only 3 due to holidays. Most students choose weekly lessons but some teachers may offer bi-weekly lessons.
Q: Does my monthly tuition change depending on how many lessons I have in a month?
A: No. Most months have four lessons but some will have five and a few may have only three depending on holidays. However, your monthly tuition will not change, making it easier for you to plan and budget.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for lessons?
A: We accept major credit cards processed via MoonClerk. We do not accept cash or check.
Q: Will I always have the same instructor?
A: When you schedule lessons we will pair you with an instructor, however, we reserve the right to use a substitute in cases when your regular instructor is not available.
Q: What are your hours?
A: We are open by appointment only.
Q: Can't I just learn how to play by watching videos online or from books?
A: While it's true that you can learn a lot on your own and ultimately your success is based upon your own efforts, what's missing from unguided learning is the valuable feedback you receive from professionals in the field.
Q: What instruments do you teach?
A: We currently offer instruction in guitar, electric bass, piano/keyboard, drum set/percussion, and voice/singing.
Q: Are my lessons tax deductible?
A: Your lessons may be tax deductible so you will want to consult with a tax professional to determine if your specific circumstance qualifies. You can read more about the program on the MN Department of Revenue website.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: As a courtesy, please let your instructor know as far in advance as possible if you cannot make your lesson. Your monthly tuition reserves your time slot, so our official policy is that we do not refund or reschedule student cancelled lessons for reasons other than illness. If our instructor must cancel and cannot find a substitute, you may choose to either reschedule your lesson or receive a prorated refund.
